The Kush Groove brand is a namesake of the movie “Krush Groove”, released in 1985 as a biopic telling the story of the rise of Def Jam records and hip hop and as an emerging mainstream genre. We changed the word “Krush” to the word “Kush” to represent the 420 subculture that’s emerging in today’s culture.

Our inspiration for the designs comes from a deep love and appreciation of the 420 counter culture. The symbols, the slang and lingo that tell the story of 420 culture is what inspires our design. Our main influence is the graffitti culture that grew out of the streets in the early 80′s.
